En-route to their new home in Bristol

Thanks to Roma, our Fiat 850S and Morris Mini 1000 are now on their way to their new home in Bristol. After such a beautiful day it is now an awful night to be travelling with the heaven’s opening and a big downpour spoiling the nice shiny arrival.

Fiat 850S – Engine Out

We’ve taken the engine out of our 1970 Fiat 850S as we discovered the core plug at the rear of the head was broken. Dave has repaired the issues and re-fitted the engine ready for it it to return to the customer’s storage facility in Bristol.

1970 Fiat 850 Inspection

The new owner of this Fiat 750 has asked us to inspect the vehicle and asses the amount of work needed to get it back on the road. Ady and John have made a list of all of their inspection notes that need addressing.

  • Core plug at the back of engine
  • Repair back panel
  • Repair cracked screen
  • Both fan belts need replacing
  • Core plug at the back of engine
  • New exhaust clamp
  • OS outer sill split
  • 4 new tyres
  • Front bumper corners need fixing
  • Bottom bell housing cover missing
  • NSR floor rust hole
  • Both anti roll bar link arms
  • Rear shock rubber
  • Brake service
  • OSR indicator
  • Lights not fully working
  • Wipers not fully working
  • Needs points ignition and condenser

Two Wonderful Classics Leave Our Showroom

We’ve sold two lovely classic vehicles this week. Both of which are going to the same owner!

Our lovely low milage Morris Mini is being kept in it’s stunning original condition. Having covered under 30,000 miles, this example really is a great find for any Mini enthusiast.

The Fiat 850 Spider is going to return to it’s former glory. To make her fully roadworthy the engine will need some attention to get running perfectly. The brakes would need recommissioning and a full service should see her ready for a MOT.

The very same customer has a wonderful Citroen DS23 that will hopefully be entering the workshop when we are able to reopen. This vehicle needs similar treatment to our Fiat 850 Spider to pass a MOT.

For Sale soon – 1970 Fiat 850 Spider

Here at Bridge Classic Cars we have recently purchased this red 1970 Fiat 850. Until it gets a thorough inspection from our Classic Car Technicians, we’re unsure on the extent to which this lovely Fiat will need restoring. This vehicle will be available for sale, either in it’s current form or as a restoration project.

The Fiat 850 Spider was introduced at the 1965 Geneva Motor Show and came with a 843cc Fiat engine. The 850 super-seeded the Fiat 600 and was manufactured until 1973.

Designed by legendary Italian automotive styling company, Bertone, this Fiat really does embody all the best features of 1960s Italian sports cars.

The 850 did have its critics but we can’t help but fall in love with this little Italian beauty.
