1961 Ford Consul Mark II (2)

Recently unearthed in a Suffolk garage after medium time storage due to bereavement is this two-tone Ford Consul.

Obviously loved for many years, it is remarkably solid. Starts on the button and sounds sweet. The previous owner fitted fibreglass wings, additionally two metal wings in excellent condition are supplied as part of the sale.

The bottoms of the doors are the worst part of the car, and as you can see, two rear doors in excellent condition are supplied which leaves the front doors to either be repaired or replaced.

She would benefit after this work to be totally resprayed but can certainly be enjoyed in it’s current state.

The underneath of the vehicle is in very good condition and the picture of the hole within the inner wing is the only hole we can find, we cannot see any further welding that needs to be carried out.

All the chrome is serviceable but depending on what the new owner requirers from her will dictate whether re-chroming is nessasary.

As pictured, the interior is excellent. There is room for very slight improvement, but that is being very critical. The ceiling cloth is excellent. The dash and the dash top are also in superb condition.

To summarise her condition, a service, a brake overhaul and a sunny day will see her at her best.

The car is here to be sold, it’s an appreciating classic and it will not be sold for less than the asking price. We have highlighted all the problematic areas.
