Bridge Classic Cars was offered this beautiful Jaguar Etype Series 1 4.2 which was 80% restored. Anyone knowing Bridge Classics will know what happened next. In fairness the body was beautifully restored but had the wrong doors and latches so we bought 2 brand new doors and fitted.
The car was resprayed to a very good standard but that is not good enough for the team, so we stripped it back and resprayed it again. Then when the car was fitted backup we resprayed certain areas a final time. The finish is superb.
The engine and gearbox has been professionally refurbished, it has superb oil pressure and the gearbox has a silky change.
When we picked her up we were told that the rear axle area did not need overhauling so we removed this and totally rebuilt the whole unit with new, discs, pads, brake pipes and shock absorbers. The main cradle was sent away, sandblasted and resprayed in high gloss black.
All the chrome was either re-chromed or replaced.
Total brake overhaul was next.
Our trimmer completely re-trimmed the whole car using top grade biscuit leather and matching leatherette giving that, “I what to sit in here feel”.
New rubbers all round.
Period radio and speakers.
Brand new chrome spokes on period tyres.
New stainless exhaust.
I could go on all day but the truth is, it’s all been done.
The car has mountains of history.
