1984 Ferrari 308 GTS QV

SOLD

1984 Ferrari 308 GTS quattrovalvole. This beautiful example is finished in the rare Argento Silver which enthusiasts believe will make for a fantastic future investment against the many Rosso Red’s available on the market.

The car has covered just 68,000 miles with fantastic history to warrant those miles. The cambelt has been changed just 8 months and under 1000 miles ago. Records also show a cambelt change in both 2007 and 2011.

She is also sitting on brand new tyres all round and somewhat of a rarity, the spare is also a full size wheel which is not often found in these models.

Paris Motor Show,  1982, Ferrari launched the iconic Ferrari 308 quattrovalvole, literally meaning “four valves” in Italian. This upgrade was developed in both the GTB and GTS form. This change pushed the car up to 240 bhp, restoring some of the performance lost to the emission control equipment.

The 308 GTS quattrovalvole model could be recognised by the addition of a slim louvred panel in the front lid to aid radiator exhaust air exit, power operated mirrors carrying a small enamel Ferrari badge, a re-designed radiator grille with rectangular driving lights on each side, and rectangular (in place of round) side repeaters.

The interior received some minor updates, such as a satin black three spoke steering wheel with triangular centre; cloth seat centres became available as an option to the standard full leather. Available options included metallic paint, a deep front spoiler, air conditioning, wider wheels, 16-inch Speedline wheels with Pirelli P7 tyres, and a satin black roof aerofoil (standard on Japanese market models).

MOT’d until August 2019 but will leave us with a fresh 12 month MOT for peace of mind. All old MOT’s are present and beautifully presented and make up part of the fantastic history of the car. Ferrari enthusiasts will be pleased to hear that the history includes many many receipts dating back to the early years of 1984 and the majority of the work and maintenance has been carried out by some of the UK’s leading Ferrari specialists including: GTB restorations, Shiltech Performance and Superformance Ferrari.

The car was last serviced in October 2018 and has covered less than 1000 miles since. The original Ferrari service history reads 1984, 1986, 1987, 1988, 1988, 1990, 1995, 1998, 2001 and with all the spaces taken up all future, regular service intervals were met and receipts are present and correct. A previous owner has also included a fantastic timeline of all works and maintenance carried out between 1984 and 2013.

The car is a stunning example and is a credit to its former keepers. Whether you are looking for a sound investment or a classic fit for this summer then this is the car for you.
