Rolls Royce’s Most Expensive Car Is Worth £20Million

Rolls Royce has revealed their latest car, the Boat Tail, to be worth £20 million and comes with a fold-out table, parasol and champagne. The term boat tail refers to the rear end that was made to mimic a J-class yacht’s hull. It comes as part of a highly exclusive nautical trio base limousines, each costing £20 million and have been designed with the involvement of their clients.

This bespoke motor has been personally commissioned by a wealthy couple with a love of Champagne and alfresco meals, hence the added design of the champagne back. The car even includes a set of his and hers wrist watches which can be slotted into the dash to become the internal clock.

The car was 4 years in the making and required an incredibly fine attention to detail in collaboration with the clients who wanted a unique car to mark a sense of occasion. The reason for the high price tag is down to the vehicle being custom designed from start to finish and is set to be a one off.

The client’s favourite Armand de Brignac vintage needs to be stored at six degrees Centigrade for perfect drinking which is the exact temperature the fridge is set to. The most expensive bottle is worth a sublime £58,000.

From their press statement:

“Today marks a seminal moment for the House of Rolls-Royce. We are proud to unveil Rolls-Royce Boat Tail to the world, and with it, the confirmation of coachbuilding as a permanent fixture within our future portfolio.

“Historically, coachbuilding had been an integral part of the Rolls-Royce story.  In the contemporary Rolls-Royce narrative, it has informed our guiding philosophy of Bespoke. But it is so much more. Rolls-Royce Coachbuild is a return to the very roots of our brand. It represents an opportunity for the select few to participate in the creation of utterly unique and truly personal commissions of future historical significance.

“Rolls-Royce has carefully listened to its closest clients, each of whom has expressed a desire to deepen their relationship with the brand by creating ambitious, personal statements of true luxury. Rolls-Royce Boat Tail is not a concept created to be retrospectively sold.
