1969 Jaguar E-Type Roadster Engine Rebuild

We have now completed the full rebuild of our 1969 Jaguar E-Type engine with the assistance of Ady at Scholar Engineering.

The engine has been run up and tested with a video on our YouTube channel so we can now put the engine away ready for the restoration to commence.

The car is available for sale as a restoration project, complete with the newly built engine or the restoration can be completed to exacting standards by us here at Bridge Classic Cars.

Running up the E-Type engine after rebuild

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]We are now ready to take delivery of our 1969 Jaguar E-Type engine from the guys at Scholar Engineering.

The engine arrived to us from the US as box of bits so the task at hand was to build the engine from the ground up.

The majority of the parts were included with very few needing to be sourced.

The engine is now complete and has been tested.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_video link=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Z_-blVbHkk” align=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row]

Stripping out to clean our 1969 Jaguar E-type Roadster

After 6 weeks locked away in a container on a ship from the US our 1969 Jaguar E-Type had developed a bit of a wiff.

Inside the car showed signs of animal activity with lots of mouldy faeces all over. The smell was quite revolting so having purchased some hazardous white suits John took on the task of removing the contents, throwing away what wasn’t required and giving our shell a good thorough high pressure wash. Luckily the work took place on this year’s hottest day so the job could be undertaken outside and the pressure wash soon dried up to reveal a nice shiny shell minus the smells and questionable fluff!

We’ve rescued what parts of the seats we could and we’ve kept hold of the good cushioning and leather to act as templates for when we look to re-upholster the car during it’s restoration.
